When Anne said goodbye to the Dambo team she got o commemorate this unique experience and to share a piece of local pride by gifting them all bars of Troll Soap as a symbol of gratitude and connection. It was a bonus that building trolls is hard, sweaty work, so the gift was especially welcomed!
As a parting message, we encourage you to nurture your connection with local art, culture, and history. Embrace the adventures and stories that make our community unique. Together, let's continue to make conscious choices that enrich our lives and those of future generations.
]]>Here at Seattle Sundries, we're proud to create handcrafted soaps, skincare, and gifts with a distinct Pacific Northwest vibe. The process from ideation to finishing touches is grounded in creativity, meticulousness, and a good bit of wit. Today, we're shedding light on the craft that sets us apart.
Every design you see starts with the skills and imagination of one woman - our founder, Anne. An artist and designer, Anne creates all the original artwork for our products, self-taught in graphics programs (thanks, YouTube!). Over the years, she's expanded her skill set to include 3-D design, video, and animation.
Inspiration often comes from her surroundings, taking cues from life, history, and the interests of Seattle and Pacific Northwest residents. Depending on the complexity, a black and white design could take anywhere from a week to a month to complete, with many later colorized and featured on mugs and totes that you've come to love.
But our products are more than their aesthetics. Matching a design with a scent blend that complements the theme is its next crucial step. This process is about ensuring that the scent is something you'd love to use on your skin every day.
Blending essential oils is an art form in itself, a pursuit that Anne has honed over many years. Customer feedback plays a crucial role in this process. If you've ever visited our workshop, you might have been asked to lend your nose to the cause, helping shape our unique aromatic symphony.
The final step is naming the product and penning its description. Capturing the essence of the product design, scent, and personality in a few sentences can be tricky. Still, Anne tackles the challenge head-on with a preference for word play, humor, and alliteration that imbues our product listings with a sense of fun and character.
In essence, our commitment is embodied in our values - a love for community, creativity, and craftsmanship resound in each product we offer. When you purchase from Seattle Sundries, you're not just getting an item; you're getting a piece of our passion and an ode to the beauty and spirit of the Pacific Northwest.

Growing up in Idaho, my stepfather was a college literature professor who also had a peculiar fascination with cryptozoology. For those unfamiliar, cryptozoology is the study of hidden animals, often tied to local folklore, such as Ogopogo, the Pend Orielle Paddler, and the notorious Pacific Northwest legend, Sasquatch.
Now, whether Sasquatch exists or not is a debate for another day, but what's clear is that if they do exist, they're known to be pretty smelly. So in 2005, inspired by the idea that even Sasquatch needs some proper grooming, we came up with the perfect soap just for the occasion: Sasquatch Soap
Designed with the Pacific Northwest vibes in mind, Sasquatch Soap features an all-natural formula. It's infused with woodsy essential oils like tea tree and cedarwood, and protective ingredients like black walnut hull powder that help combat insects and heal scrapes from all those inevitable forest escapades. We were pretty confident that Bigfoot would appreciate our earth-friendly, all-natural approach.
But hey, even if you're not a mythical creature, Sasquatch Soap is worth a try. It's perfect for the average Pacific Northwest adventurer who values that distinct woodsy scent, the properties of tea tree and cedarwood oils, and of course, quality. And who knows, maybe using this soap will help keep the real Sasquatch at bay during your outdoor excursions?
At Seattle Sundries, we pride ourselves on crafting handcrafted goods for people who value quality and genuine personality. Our products, like Sasquatch Soap, are made in the spirit of Pacific Northwest traditions, with low-waste packaging and sustainably-sourced ingredients, appealing to those who prefer to shop local and support small businesses.
So whether you believe in the legend of Sasquatch or not, we've got you covered with the right soap for your next Pacific Northwest adventure. Stay clean, and enjoy the great outdoors!

Hey there creative folks! Let me share a quick story with you. We got to help set up a bulletin board to greet students for the new school year and recognize each person's potential. Taking inspiration from some cool mirror displays spotted on Pinterest, we decided to take that idea and give it our unique spin.
We began with a catchy phrase: "Mirror mirror, on the wall...there's a leader in us all." The goal was to include real mirrors in the display, while keeping it safe and secure for an elementary school hallway. Oh, and we had to keep it as close to zero dollars as possible.
Luckily, we found mirror tiles (used for candle displays) at the local dollar store for $1 each. Now that's what we call a great deal - much like Seattle Sundries' affordable Artisan Soaps collection.
To attach the tiles securely to the wall, we ditched the conventional wood or plastic frames in favor of duct tape. Just like our handcrafted approach to Seattle Sundries products, we got to work with heavy paper and duct tape, creating unique frames that could be securely fastened with staples.
We wanted to bring more color to the display, so we added some faux mirrors as well. You know, just like the vibrant colors and themes of our Smooch Stick Lip Balms.
We thought the rhyme could be more personal for the students, so we expanded it with:
Mirror mirror, on the wall… there’s a leader in us all.
The reflection in the mirror shows a person whose wisdom blooms and grows.
My talents, skills, and experience will help to make a difference.
The future is an open book for me to write, so take a look!
Our school's diverse student population inspired us to translate the rhyme into multiple languages, with a little help from our Facebook community.
In the end, the kids and parents loved it! So here's to embracing creativity and finding ways to make a difference in our communities.
So, the next time you glimpse your reflection, remember that there's a leader within us all, and our future is an open book for us to write. Embrace your imaginative, adventurous spirit and let it shine in every corner of your life! 🌟🎭🎶
What are your thoughts on this project? Have you done something similar? Let us know in the comments below! And don't forget to explore Seattle Sundries to see how we've put our own creative energy into making products that make every day a little bit better.
]]>I started with the post, but added in loops and corner magnets to allow for a few ways to hang them. I also ran a few lines of stitching to keep the towels from balling up in the wash.
The terrycloth side is really absorptive and and the sheet side is great on glass and stainless steel. I don't use them with cooking fat, but other than that, they've replaced paper towels at our house. Several towels now live at the shop. A few live at my neighbors' homes. My mom and BFF from kindergarten are using them when backyard grilling.
The project was a lot simpler than my write-up sounds! Please ask if you have any questions or suggestions!
My method:
First, I ripped my sheet into fat strips. I cut the trim off the towels to use for my hanging loops.
I pinned the sheet strips to my towels and cut to a “handy” size. No measuring occurred. If there was a print, I pinned them wrong-sides together.
I sewed the sheet to the towel on three sides, turned right-side-out, stuffed the magnet and loop in an unfinished corner, tucked raw edges in, ironed flat, and sewed everything shut.
A couple finishing top-stitches secures the hook and magnet and keeps the towels from wadding up in the washing machine.
If you try this at home, I'd love to hear what you think!
]]>The real deep-dive into hockey came unexpectedly - through my son. Thanks to a Canadian friend, my boy discovered hockey and adopted it wholeheartedly, leaving me on the sidelines, observing a journey filled with slick skills, tactful strategies, and a whole lot of thrill. Next, my daughter started playing. And now...Seattle has the Kraken! We are all-in on hockey.
But there's a flip-side to the adrenaline rush - hockey stinks. Literally. Imagine the intense aroma of a locker room post a high-stakes match; that's the smell I'm talking about. It was then that a creative idea dropped in - why not conjure up a hockey-themed soap, one that resonates with the spirit of this electrifying sport and yet combats the smell?
So, in 2013 we introduced Slap Shot Soap, crafted with care right here in Seattle. It combines the dark hue of activated charcoal, making the round bar look just like a real puck, and infuses it with refreshing scents of spearmint and tea tree essential oils.
At Seattle Sundries, our goal is to create handcrafted products that blend quality and genuine personality with a Pacific Northwest vibe. By using high-quality, natural ingredients, our Hockey Soap embodies that commitment - a perfect blend of thoughtful craftsmanship.
Why not celebrate our shared love for the Pacific Northwest, and the sports it nurtures, with a soap designed for hockey enthusiasts and players alike? Check it out, and feel free to share your thoughts below!

]]>The finely ground shell of the nut from the tree Juglans nigra native to eastern North America is valued for its astringent and insecticidal properties. The Comanche made a paste of the leaves and husk of the nut to treat ringworm. Black walnut was also used by the Appalachian, Cherokee, Iroquois, and Rappahannock peoples as a treatment for fungal infections of the feet and hands.
The black walnut tree, also called eastern black walnut or American walnut, "is one of the scarcest and most coveted native hardwoods" and is becoming increasingly rare. The nuts have a distinctive taste that are also prized for baked goods, and by squirrels. Apparently humans need to be pretty fast to get to them first.
Black walnut is a key ingredient in our popular Sasquatch Soap ®. It boosts the effectiveness of the soap and adds a light exfoliating texture to each bar. We love the way it combines with cocoa powder to give the soap a beautiful brown hue.

But just how akin is Anne to her Seattle Sundries brand? Does she have a Manly Man side with a touch of Bitchin’ Kitchen’? Maybe some of her soaps invoke the things she loves in life, or perhaps they embody some of her talents and hobbies?
Seattle Sundries soaps & lotions are alive with personality but not just Anne’s. Her inspirations for new soap often come from the people in her life. Many Seattle Sundries customers say the character of the soap matters to them when deciding which ones to buy for themselves and even more so when purchasing a gift. One person confidently boasted he is a Sasquatch in our recent customer interviews, while another confessed she is a Naughty Nellie. And there is a surprising amount of Cowpokes out there too!
So it was only natural when long-time Sundries Soaps sudser Beth wanted to know which soap represented Anne’s personality most. Seems that Anne's personality leans towards Gardner's Gold, with a streak of Highland Fling!
But Anne explains that while each compact soap tin has some of her in there, some soaps have more Anne than others.
Great question, Beth!
Which of our soaps best matches your personality? We have over a dozen character-packed soaps for you to explore. Discover which one is your Kindred Spirit.
]]>Because the questions from our customers' videos are fun, curious and worthy of sharing, we’re launching our “Ask Anne” series. We think both new and long-time Seattle Sundries patrons will find that Anne’s answers provide a personal perspective and a special insight into her products.
Some questions even put Anne on the spot, like what character-centric Seattle Sundries soap matches her personality best! (Stay tuned for that one!) Another interviewee was excited to know if Seattle Sundries will expand its product line.
In episode 1 of our “Ask Anne” series, Greg, star of the Manly Man video, challenges Anne with a gut-wrenching question that leaves her torn and unable to answer Greg’s question correctly.
It’s Ok, Anne! We’ll let this one slide since it is your first question and admittedly a tough one!
Although her answer may not accurately address Greg’s question, it is still a very satisfying answer that includes fun facts and personal anecdotes about two popular Seattle Sundries soaps. Plus, the sidestepping of the original question is pretty humorous, so be sure to watch!
Have a question about our products, or about Seattle Sundries? Ask Anne! Just reach out to us online and let us know! Tell us what you’re curious about, or what you’d like to share → anything about our products, how they work for you, or feel free to describe a scent, share a funny story about our soaps, or offer suggestions.
P.S. “Talk Soap With Anne” - If you share a question or a curiosity regarding our soaps and lotions, we might reach out to you to virtually share your question with Anne.
]]>Bitchin' Kitchen Soap has had a makeover! Our new label art is inspired by the many chefs, restaurants, and culinary schools that Seattle is proud to be home to, not to mention all of our fantastic farmer's markets and fishmongers! We also added a subtle nod to our Washington wineries, vibrant foraging culture, and even...the new Seattle Kraken. Those tentacles are alive!! Don't let the stockpot fool you.
The scent has been updated as well, with nutmeg, almond, and coffee essential oils added to the original dominant fragrance of cinnamon leaf oil. The blend is a more subtle balance of aromas that are prized in the kitchen. The new bar still has its signature color, texture, and extreme cleaning muscle, thanks to the ground espresso beans and borax it contains.
Bitchin' Kitchen Soap is a great choice for hand-washing, as well as being a fantastic plastic-free choice for washing dishes, pots and pans. Use a scrub brush and hot water with the bar and it will work wonders.
We took one of our favorite soaps and made it even better!
]]>It turns out that Julie is an original connoisseur of Seattle Sundries soaps. In fact, she was hooked on Seattle Sundries soaps before there even was a Seattle Sundries! Julie met Anne, the creator of Seattle Sundries, through a mom's group that they were in. "We would go to Anne's house for these mom's group meetings, and her house would smell just glorious, because she would be making these soaps," reminisces Julie. "She was hand making soap in her kitchen," recalls Julie, who felt quite lucky that Anne would often send her and other friends home with loose ends from her burgeoning soap-making experiments. "And that's how I kind of got hooked on her products," laughs Julie.
And Julie's been using Anne's soaps ever since! From the beginning of Anne’s soap-making journey when all-natural, embracingly wonderfully scented soap was just an idea, brewing in Anne’s left brain, to the present, full-fledged legit business with an actual storefront in Seattle’s Ballard neighborhood. Julie has been there from the beginning and has just about tried over 15 varieties of our soap, and many other Seattle Sundries products, including the lip balms, and our solid lotions.
Recent favorite? "I do love Gardner's Gold, but I like Fish Tale a lot too," says Julie. "It has just a little bit of the loofah in it, which is really nice, and the smells are just amazing. All of her soaps are amazing!"
What about her all-time go-to favorite, can't live without soap? "It would be Body and Soul", says Julie. "I just love the scent. It's just saturated all the way through, so even when you have a little nub of soap left in your shower, it still smells great."
So, Julie's tried just about all of our soaps and products. What would she were gifting to someone, what would she choose? "I've kind of over gifted the soaps to be honest," Julie laughs. "So I'm on a new kick now, and I'm giving Smooch Sticks, lotion bars and shave soap more than I'm giving soap," she adds. "Just because it's new for my loved ones, and I love them too." Her go-to lip balm at the moment? "I've got the lavender & lemon lip balm in my hands right now. It's great, and it lasts forever. It's not greasy, and not too waxy. The balance is really great. Love, love. Love it!"
Julie's journey with our soaps has come a long way. From heavenly soap aromas wafting out of Anne's kitchen to Julie now being able to order our soaps online whenever she needs, from wherever. Julie’s off-the-cuff backstory of Anne and Seattle Sundries’ story is fresh! It’s a story with a beginning and a middle with notes of nostalgia, friendship, and inspiration. Julie’s memories of Seattle Sundries history is a well-scented slice of life! And it's a story to be continued.
Thanks for sharing and "Talkin' Soap" with us, Julie.
]]>“I'm not usually a brand loyalist," he says. "But over the years, I've just realized, Seattle Sundries Soaps, as silly as it may sound, the way they lather and how the product performs is just so much better than anything else I've ever used."
Our soaps Pacific Northwest vibe also touch his heart with their humorous regional messaging.
What else? Ken loves that our palm-sized soap tins pack a bathtub size of value! He characterizes the soaps as an affordable luxury. “Some things are worth paying a bit extra because of the experience you get from it and how it works for you.”
Ken brings up that nowadays, he buys our soaps in bulk. Having hung on to the soap tins, he now repurposes them when he buys our refill bars in bulk. "I just keep replenishing and reordering that all the time," he adds.
Favorite soap? While Ken has tried just about every one of our soaps, he calls cowpoke his favorite soap. 'It's got some exfoliators in it, so it's a little bit abrasive," he says. "And it's got a great clean smell to it, it lathers amazingly, and it's a nice combination of getting the dirt off and lathering up. It kind of makes you look forward to taking a shower." Ken's tip: Stock up or guard it from your family! "We as a family share the soaps, and enjoy them all, but that's the one I'm a little bit more guarded on."
But there's more to our soaps than just looks, scent, suds and value. When Ken buys soap for his family, there's another big consideration for him: His daughter has a nut allergy. "They care, and it’s clear through the way they communicate," says Ken. "The folks at Seattle Sundries are informed and thoughtful. My daughter has a nut allergy, which includes Shea butter, and Seattle Sundries has been great communicating to us which soaps are better for her to use and which soaps are better for her to avoid.”
Ken mentions that we even discussed our process for separating the soaps and product ingredients, so there is no cross-contamination. "Trusting what you are buying is simply peace of mind," adds Ken.
Besides helping you smell good and look even fresher, we want to make sure that our products can also offer you a little peace mind when you need it too. If you have a particular allergy and you're not sure about how our ingredients might affect it, or you'd like a recommendation for which of our soaps, solid lotions or lip balms might work best for your needs, please reach out to us!
]]>Beth has loved Seattle Sundries soaps since Anne first started making them in her garage. “I met Anne when our kids were babies, and I have been trying her soaps since she was making them out of her garage. Fourteen years later, I’m still trying.”
Nowadays, living much further away, Beth finds herself buying 20 bars at a time when she 0rders online. It’s not that the soaps don’t last long; it’s just that everybody in the family loves them, especially her husband. Beth tells us that her hubby is the one rallying to replenish their supply when their inventory gets low. “My husband is a farmer from Canada, and I think he likes the soaps as much or more than I do, which is kind of funny that he likes the homemade fresh artisan soaps.”
But another reason they keep a healthy stock of our soaps on hand is they make great presents! Beth explains that each bar embodies a character that she can match with a present recipient’s personality. Beth says she is very thoughtful about which soaps she chooses to give as gifts.
For example, she gives Gardener's Gold to her mom & mother-in-law, who are passionate about gardening. Like hockey? If Beth knows you're a hockey enthusiast, it's likely she'll gift you Slap Shot. For her father, who is also a farmer, he steadfastly gets Cowpoke in his Christmas stocking every year. And if you’re a girlfriend on the wild side, Naughty Nellie may show up in a cute, ribbon-clad gift bag on your kitchen counter.
If you choose to shop online and load up your shopping cart, or you just try a few soaps at a time, we promise you that an entertaining and calmingly fragrant package will arrive on your doorstep! Seattle Sundries soaps are all-natural, handcrafted with love soaps that make choosing a thoughtful gift fun!
Don’t know a farmer or a gardener? No worries, you’re in good hands because Seattle Sundries’ line of soaps includes products for the rugged to the exotic! And they're plenty of different scents to choose from too - From floral and spicy to sweet and earthy; there's there's even our unscented Buck Naked soap for those who prefer to suds au naturel!
]]>We carry five regular lotion bar scents, year round. But we now have two new seasonal scents, just in time for spring!
Fresh Flower scent combines the rich florals of lavender and ylang ylang with the earthiness of patchouli and the herbal undertones of amyris.
Woodland scent features the soothing scents of cedar and tea tree, with lemon to brighten and synthesize the uplifting aroma.
Our spring scents are only around until the solstice rolls us into summer, so don't miss out! Your hands will thank you.
]]>“Oh my gosh, I love the lotions,” says Derek, who explains that the puck-sized hand lotion bars are so convenient to travel with, especially on camping trips. “You can just toss them in your backpack, and they don’t spill out or ooze! They are hearty, so they are perfect for travel.”
Derek reached into his backpack on a recent camping trip and pulled out his herbal lemon lotion bar while sitting around the campfire to soothe his sun-soaked skin. Minutes later, he noticed his balm had managed to circle the campfire into the hands of his sister, who exclaimed, when their eyes met, “Oh my Gosh, I’m gonna get this!”
Unlike most liquid lotions, our solid lotion bars don’t include water or chemical preservatives. These concentrated bars add intense moisture to dry and irritated skin, with no artificial or synthetic ingredients. They sooth chapped, dry, cracked skin, using pure ingredients that come from nature. Use them on your hands, legs, elbows, or wherever your skin needs some extra TLC. And because they’re solid, they won’t accidentally spill like a liquid lotion might. They’re a perfect skin soother whether you’re home, or on the go, like camping!
Be the campfire hero and pick up your supply of conveniently packaged, no-spill, moisturizing Happy Hands Lotion Bars at the Seattle Sundries online store. We offer up to 7 different types of lotion bars to satiate your skin from unscented to orange spice.
Disclaimer: Buyer beware of other “happy hands” in the vicinity of your lotion bars. When you purchase our lotion bars, you may need to get some extras in case your friends, family or anyone else nearby discovers how great they are. They may “borrow” them for their own. For these pesky happy hands, you may need to give them the gift of the lotion bar to protect your own! Fortunately for everyone, we offer a Happy Hands lotion bar gift set!

Athletic, full of heart, and handy around the house, Greg and Derek are the ideal candidates for feedback on the powers of our Manly Man soap. As first time users of the soap, we asked for their impressions and, after a thoughtful pause, Greg concurred that the soap indeed conjured up the badass feel.
Remarkably, after a good cleansing, he could sense a heightened rapport with the hunk illustrated on the soap tin’s lid.
Derek added that he enjoyed the balanced, masculine fragrance that does not overpower the nose. After cleaning up with Manly Man soap for a few weeks, Derek answered, “The scent is masculine but not too crazy,” and we all know Manly Men are aromatically subtle and “not too crazy.”
They both recommend Manly Man soap as a thoughtful, naturally scented, suds producing gift for those ultra-fine macho men in your life.
P.S. Keeping your Manly Man aura on the downlow? No worries. We have 18 other soaps to choose from that can match your mood - from Naughty Nellie to Highland Fling. And they also make excellent gifts to match the mood of that special someone...who could use a bath, or a shower.

That might be why many of our soap enthusiasts, like Peter, can relate. Our Sasquatch soap brings out their inner Sasquatch spirit, wherever they may be roaming around the globe. We recently had the privilege to virtually “Talk Soap” with Peter, who shared his fondness for our Sasquatch soap, as well as how our soaps seem to match the personality of the person using them.
Tried and True
Peter, who now lives in Northern California, discovered our soaps by accident, and he’s never gone back to any other soaps since. Now, six years later, he and his wife are hooked on our soaps, and he now orders them in bulk!
“I pick one and I stick with it, so I really like Sasquatch, but she likes a variety so she kind of does a new kind every month,” says Peter. “So that's been fun, and also the refills are pretty reasonable in terms of price,” he adds.
Different Soaps for Different Folks
So, Peter, what’s your connection to Sasquatch? “I'm not a native of the Northwest. I grew up in New York City, so I guess I would not say I'm an authority on all things Northwest,” says Peter. “Nevertheless, it does seem to have a woodsy, overall kind of authentic, natural feel to it, which I'm not sure if you can say it's unique to the northwest, but it's consistent with this kind of outdoor vibe.”
According to Peter, his wife prefers “Bees’ Knees” ,”Slippery Slope” and “Sunrise”, which he says matches per personality. “She is an early riser. She's one that values exercise,” he says. “She gets out the door, wakes up kind of ready to go, where I am not like that,” Peter explains.
You’re more like Sasquatch? “Yeah, I like it a bit more shady, a little bit more gloomy,” laughs Peter.
So, you’re a go out at dusk person? "Yeah."
You go out at dusk and build fires. “Secure campfires,” Peter quickly clarifies.
Ok, so tell us what you like about the scent? “I do like the overall scent of the woodsiness that kind of goes with my own personality in terms of what I enjoy, like getting outdoors, or going for hikes," says Peter. "It meshes well with who I am. So anything that can help me accentuate that in a way that's personal, and not necessarily mass produced for everybody, is kind of nice.”
Good Enough to Eat?
Apparently Peter isn’t the only one in his household whose inner Sasquatch gets released from our soaps. “My toddler has eaten some,” Peter mentions. “It smelled good enough that he did try and eat it.”
Did he have a funny face? “Yeah, he wasn't pleased, nor was I,” says Peter. “It was definitely a daddy fail lesson learned all around.”
Well, at least it wasn’t Dial soap, that could have been poisonous. At least you knew the soap was all-natural. “True, that actually crossed my mind!”
Whether you’re a seize the day type, or more of a sunset woods stroller, we’ve got a soap to match your personality. In fact, we have 19 different soaps to match your style!
]]>A Case for the Gift of Soap this (Socially Distant) Holiday Season
As many of us hang back from traveling for the Holidays this year, a hand-made, easy to ship soap that muses about its locality can be an ideal gift for a distant gift exchange. A present with regional significance can draw you closer, in some ways, to your loved ones, who will be further than you prefer this season.
Soaps That Share a Little Seattle Grooviness
The quality of the creative, recyclable, tin packaging made a significant impression on our most recent interview participants. Scott, a Seattle area designer, says, “he appreciates the graphic ink work,” further elaborating how the drawings uniquely reflect a sense of place. Zac chimes in, “They have some nice Seattle grooviness to them, as well as some local landmarks in the drawings.”
The conversation turns to a light-hearted debate about the specific location depicted on our spearmint and citrus scented Sunrise Rowing soap. Of course, this dialogue is fun as we all start to reminisce about some of the unique places we have been in Seattle. It's the Fremont Bridge, by the way.
Zac figures that if he can’t be with his family during the 2020 holiday season the next best thing is to send local gifts that will remind his loved ones of him and the place he hopes they can travel to soon!
If you’re looking to share a little piece of the Northwest with your loved ones this Holiday season, we have a variety of soaps (lip balms, and lotions too!) with unique packaging that makes it amusing to match soaps with your family and friends’ personalities. So, if you can’t be with those you love this Holiday, the gift of soap is a sweet way to stay connected during this period of social distancing.
P.S. Our products are truly the gift that keeps on giving. Think of the bounty of freshness that will greet you when you’re able to enjoy real in-person hugs again!]]>Andrea and Joel recently sat down with us, via Zoom, to share why our all-natural, locally made soaps are a fun and rewarding gift to give! They love using our soaps so much, that they share them with each other as stocking stuffers, or give them as gifts for their friends and family around the country.
Why? Because the all-natural round soaps are handcrafted, come in repurposable tins, with fun packaging and witty designs that reflect the fresh, earthy scents of the Pacific Northwest’s frontier personality! Joel and Andrea also enjoy giving a gift that comes from their Ballard neighborhood.
With names like “Sasquatch", “Road Trip” and “Manly Man” each soap is like its own character. And they’re accompanied by humorous descriptions, making it a fun challenge to match the gift recipient with the perfect scent for them—a guaranteed conversation starter.
“Not to be corny, but they smell nature inspired. They are fresh, light and the classy packaging make them an ideal gift,” Andrea explains.
There’s even a soap just for hockey fans, like Joel, who enjoys slap shot hockey soap! It’s black and Joel points out the soap’s hockey puck size and shape that fits firmly in his palm. “It’s a perfect fit to avoid slippage while sudsing up in the shower,” he says. “It’s the best alternative to ‘soap on a rope’,” he adds.
As we settle into fall, still under the tyranny of COVID-19, there are lots of folks needing a little extra TLC for their hands. Our new seasonal solid lotion bar might be just the solution!
Like with all of our solid lotion bars, these are made with pure beeswax, sweet almond oil, shea butter, wheat germ oil, coconut oil, and sweet orange and clove pure essential oils for scent. They are fantastic!
This lotion bar will only be available for a limited time, as we rotate other seasonal scents in and out of our offerings.
]]>When Joel and Andrea made the move from New York to Seattle, they embraced the Northwest lifestyle, but little did they know that they would also fall in love with a local Seattle soap.
Love at First Sight
Where did this love come from?
“So Andrea, this is me over-sharing,” says Joel, as Andrea chuckles. ‘I’ve always liked soap. It’s kind of like my guilty vice. When we lived in New York, we lived in a artisan community. And we would go to this one guy who made soap. I kind of got hooked on it.”
A Lasting Bond?
Would they ever leave Seattle Sundries for other soaps? “I have used other brands and kinds of soaps,” says Joel. “And it’s always like, oh, that was fun, but I can’t wait to get back to Manly Man, or Highland Fling!”
Go-to Scent? And do they Rotate Soaps?
“Jet City has become my new favorite. Maybe it’s because of the season. I like the freshness about it. It feels green to me. And yes, I do rotate my scents. I need a little variety,” says Andrea. “I absolutely rotate my soaps based on the season. I will use Cowpoke and Manly Man in the summer, because I think they’re a little bit lighter fragrances. And then I do Sasquatch and Highland Fling. I’ll use those in the winter because they’re a little bit heavier,” shares Joel.
We make soaps people fall in love with. If you’re interested in exploring the possibility of a long-lasting relationship with our soaps for yourself, please discover what we have to offer.

RESOUCES:
I purchased the plastic (polycarbonate) from TAP Plastics. One sheet can be cut into enough for 12 shields and costs around $13 for the sheet.
