Seattle’s enterprising businesswoman, Nellie Curtis, opened her high class brothel in the LaSalle Hotel in 1942. The height of luxury and ‘service’, it was Pike Place Market’s most clandestine destination for over a decade. The Pike Brewery was later founded on the same site and came to produce a lovely golden ‘Naughty Nellie Ale’, which adds luscious lather and a heady fragrance to this fine, handcrafted soap.
